So this is the 7,389th version of Bomberman right? Good thing this one is
better then all 7388 versions! BG is a surprisingly playable title that is
addicting, longlasting and way too damn cute. If anything, my one warning is
the grossout cuteness. Beware of the title screen, thats all Ill say.
Hudson has given us a Story Mode and a bevy of multiplayer options to delve
into here. Single player revolves around tried and true bomberman running
through fairly fun levels, solving easy puzzles and doing cool minigames.
Another element is added by collecting creatures (ala Pokemon) throughout
the levels to help out Bomberman. These Charabom give specific powerups to
certain attributes of our hero. Although its a little farfetched, it does
add a good layer of depth to the game. Length wise, its all pretty decent
and you definitely will need to invest time to find and beat everything.
Moving on to the best part of the game, we find the multiplayer. Its got
your basic modes of bomberman, but it comes with coin, revenge, reversi and
a few others. Coin Battle is the best mode ever created for the series and
is worth the 50 bucks alone. If you are a social gamer, stop reading this
review and buy the game. Graphically, this game is bright and vibrant, but
not especially amazing. Its solid and average, with a touch of cel-shading
to make it a unique game to look at. Soundwise the voices are cute and very
annoying. While the music is upbeat and generally pretty good. Also, the
control is near perfect and gives you more then youd think in terms of
moves for Bomberman. This is one of the best 3rd party exclusives at the
moment, so dont hesitate to give this title a shot.

Graphics: 5.5   These are very average graphics. By no means are they bad at
all, they just arent that amazing. But, they are solid and fluid, which
makes the game a joy to play.

Sound:    6.5     The music here is cooler then I would have expected. Its
too bad these voices are about as bad screeching chalk.

Control:   9.0     Not too much that you have to remember. Everything is
tight and responsive. Pretty much flawless.

Replay:   10.0   Its Bomberman. It has TONS of mulitplayer options. Also, it
has a substantial and fun single player game that is the tops in the series.
Nice work.

Overall:    8.7   If the presentation were more appealing it would get a
higher score. But since Im more about the fun, it gets a good score. Buy
it, love it, live it.
